Darts Cottage, Appledore

Appledore is a unique little Fishing Village, situated on the estuary of the Rivers Taw and Torridge. 

Halfway between Bideford and Westward Ho!, Appledore is the perfect holiday destination for everyone.  The village is known for its craft shops selling work from local artists, and has a post office, library and a store for everyday food items.  Along with this there are a few pubs in the village where you can get a good meal, along with a fish and chip shop, a teashop and restaurants.

Within 1/2 hours drive you can visit Clovelly a stunning village situated on a steep hill , fantastic beaches such as Woolacombe, Croyde, Westward Ho! Entertainment parks such as The Big Sheep, Shopping Outlets like Atlantic Village, and shopping centres in Bideford and Barnstaple that boast traditional Pannier Markets on various days, go horse riding, cycling, fishing, play golf on the Royal North Devon Golf Course which is 'a course that demands respect', walk or ride the Tarka Trail, amongst many many other attractions that North Devon has to offer.

The Eden Project is 1 1/2 hours drive away, and the now famous village of Boscastle is about 1 hour away. 

There is a very comprehensive public transport/bus service in the area, and you will find at least one bus per hour leaving the village for Bideford, Westward Ho! and Barnstaple where transfers can take you further afield.  During the summer buses may well be more frequent.
